Located in north-central Sonoma County, just northwest of Healdsburg, this rustic wine region is the most compressed, yet easiest to navigate. Its warm climate offers full-bodied Zinfandel wines, but also produces some of the best Merlot grapes.
The 2018 Dry Creek Merlot offers aromas of brown spice, cherry liquor and dark chocolate that spring from the glass. Bramble berry, raspberry and Bing cherry flavors mingle with clove and espresso notes on the textured palate mixed with layers of dark plum, cinnamon and vanilla. Well-balanced with finely-integrated tannins, the finish is long and savory.
